Sweden Funds Rehabilitation Center for Soldiers in Ukraine
The Swedish government has decided to allocate funds for the establishment of a rehabilitation center in Ukraine for injured military personnel.
This information was released by the press service of the Swedish government.
The center will be part of a joint project being implemented by NATO and Ukraine over the past two years.
The project's main goal is to rehabilitate injured servicemen so they can return to active duty in the Armed Forces or reintegrate into civilian life.
"Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom but for ours as well. Continuing to support them in this struggle is a key task of today's security policy," stated Sweden's Minister of Civil Defense Karl-Oskar Bolin.
Health Minister Ako Ankarberg Johansson emphasized that support for the rehabilitation of injured soldiers is highly needed.
"This assistance will also be an important component of reforming and modernizing Ukraine's healthcare system. I am very pleased that Swedish expertise and interest in Ukraine's affairs can contribute to this," she said.
The Swedish government's task includes modernizing and adapting an existing building in Ukraine, purchasing and installing modern medical rehabilitation equipment, and training medical staff in areas such as traumatology and physical and psychological rehabilitation.
The project is planned to be implemented from July 2025 to July 2027.
