Canine Therapy and Art Therapy Workshops for Soldiers in Kyiv
Workshops on canine therapy and art therapy took place in Kyiv as part of a rehabilitation program for soldiers.
Juvenile police officers, alongside psychologists and representatives from the «Ukrainian Association of Pet Therapy» and the «Chaplain Patrol», organized these sessions at a yacht club.
According to the Kyiv police communication department, for two days, they engaged with wounded soldiers, offering them psychological relief at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth's yacht club.
The soldiers were informed about dogs and the effective methods of canine therapy, which aids in psychological rehabilitation. The four-legged therapists create an atmosphere of unconditional love and help distract from distressing memories. The military personnel shared interesting stories from their lives and interacted with a small therapy dog named Richie and a German shepherd named Alice.
«During the meeting, police psychologists utilized metaphorical associative cards to engage with the defenders, helping to uncover their unique traits and find ways to improve understanding with those around them,» the Kyiv police stated.
At the end of the event, the soldiers enjoyed a sailing trip on the Kyiv Sea, thrilled by the emotions they experienced.
