Ukrainian Biathlete Contends for Rookie of the Season Award

22-year-old Ukrainian biathlete Vitaliy Mandzyn is among the nominees for the 'Rookie of the Season' title.
According to IBU.
He faces competition from Norwegians Martin Uldal (23 years old) and Isak Frey (21 years old), as well as German biathlete Danilo Ritmüller (25 years old).
It is worth noting that Mandzyn finished the 2024/25 season in 31st place overall in the World Cup standings.
His best personal result of the season was 4th place in the short individual race at the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland.
During the World Cup stage in Nové Město, Czech Republic, Mandzyn earned a bronze medal as part of the relay team.
Following the international season, which was the first full season at the adult level for the athlete from Ternopil, Mandzyn lost the battle for the title of best young biathlete to Campbell Wright from the USA.
