Garris Dickinson's Debut Film Selected for Cannes

The debut film 'Urchin' by Garris Dickinson, featuring Ukrainian actress Karina Khymchuk, has been selected for the main program of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

This was announced during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, as reported by film critic Sonya Vselyubskaya from UP.Culture.

The story follows a homeless man named Mike in London, who finds himself trapped in a cycle of self-destruction while trying to change his life. The film is described as 'absurd and raw' and called 'a tale of the strange patterns that constantly pull us back.'

Alongside Karina Khymchuk, the film features Frank Dillane, Megan Northam, Amr Waked, and Shona Marie.

'Urchin' is part of the Un Certain Regard competition at the Cannes Film Festival, alongside films by Morad Mostafa, Scarlett Johansson, Diego Cespedes, Stefan Demoustier, Akinola Davis Jr., Tarzan Nasser, and Harry Layton.

Karina Khymchuk is a Ukrainian actress known for her role as a shopkeeper in the film 'Kings of Rap' and for her lead role in 'Do You Love Me?' by Toni Noyabryova, for which she received a special award at the 14th Odesa International Film Festival.

Additionally, she appeared in the Dutch series 'Ferry.'

'Urchin' marks the debut for actor Garris Dickinson, who is known for his collaboration with Nicole Kidman in the film 'Good Bad Girl' (Babygirl).
