Unpleasant Realities of Ukrainian Pensions: Statistics and Facts

26% of Ukrainian retirees, totaling 2.68 million individuals, receive pensions that do not exceed 3,000 UAH. The average amount of such pensions is 2,759.86 UAH.

Another 1.26 million people (12%) receive pensions exceeding 10,000 UAH, averaging 15,379.97 UAH.

Approximately 27% of retirees are still working and currently receive an average pension of 6,302.76 UAH.

Traditionally, the highest pensions are found among retirees in Kyiv – 8,017.65 UAH, which is more than one-third above the national average. The lowest payments are in the Ternopil region: 4,484.69 UAH, which is 23% below the average.

Overall, Ukraine has 10.34 million retirees.
