Winter Train Rides on Children's Railways in Ukraine
This December, winter train services will commence on children's railways in four cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, and Rivne.
The Kyiv Children's Railway will start operations on December 25, 2025.
Tickets and schedules will be available online from December 17 on the Ukrzaliznytsia website and app.
Planning a winter trip with children or friends is now even easier — no queues and the option to choose a convenient time in the desired city.
For every ticket purchased, you earn 250 «hugs» — which can be exchanged for discounts and partner services in the loyalty program.
This year, ticket prices are as follows: general carriage — 80 UAH (child) and 110 UAH (adult); retro carriage — 90 UAH (child) and 130 UAH (adult); luxury class carriage — 100 UAH (child) and 150 UAH (adult).
For those aspiring to become train drivers or conductors: the UZ website has contacts for free training for children aged 10-12.

The Kyiv-Passenger Children's Station is a mini-copy of the Central Railway Station. During the journey, passengers will see 27 panels of information about the regional centers of Ukraine and local attractions.
The first train on the Kyiv Children's Railway ran on August 2, 1953. A major reconstruction began in 2018, and now the route is 6.7 km long with two stations — «Kyiv-Passenger — Children's» and «Railway».
