New Technologies for Ukraine's Military Intelligence
The special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have received over 20 million UAH for modern Magura maritime platforms and fiber-optic drones. This was reported by the GUR on their Facebook page.
“Support for Ukraine's military intelligence continues: experts from the GUR's Group 13 have acquired two state-of-the-art Magura V7 maritime platforms, while FPV specialists from the “Shamanbat” unit received fiber-optic drones,” the statement said.
It is noted that the funds were donated by stand-up comedian Anton Tymoshenko, who raised the money during a European concert tour which included 37 performances in 29 cities over a month and a half.
The technological equipment was purchased and handed over to the intelligence officers in collaboration with the Diana Podolyanchuk Charitable Foundation.
The Magura V7 drones, capable of being armed with missiles to target enemy aerial objectives, were given the symbolic names “Setup” and “Punchline”.
“I want to thank everyone who contributed, everyone who joins the fundraising efforts. I was asked how to name the Magura drones. I said - since there are two of them, let’s call them “Setup” and “Punchline”. It’s very symbolic. The setup is the start of a joke, and the punchline is its, so to speak, combat part. They say that humor is not a weapon, but as you can see, anything is possible with your help. I hope these “Maguras” will perform well in defending Ukraine,” said Tymoshenko.
Six active units of the GUR received a package of assistance from an anonymous benefactor from the Netherlands worth 350,000 euros.
