Monobank Launches Second-Hand Goods Marketplace
Monobank has introduced a new platform for buying and selling used items, named monoбазар. Starting from December 8, it is available in beta mode for all bank clients. Co-founder Oleg Gorokhovsky announced this on Telegram.
"We are launching monoбазар. Now our clients can sell their unwanted (or needed) items. Think of it as a simplified version of OLX," he wrote.
The service allows purchasing items in installments, and all sellers are verified by Monobank, significantly reducing the risk of fraud, Gorokhovsky mentioned.
He also shared some features of the service. The artificial intelligence saves customers' time by automatically filling out detailed product descriptions. You just need to provide a few key phrases, like "iPhone, 80% battery, scratched screen".
"Moreover, we believe most buying discussions revolve around bargaining, which wastes time. So we automated this process: you can suggest a price, and the seller will decide if they agree to sell at that price. No more lengthy discussions!", he stated.
"Additionally, the seller will only receive payment once you pick up the item from the post office. If you look at it and decide it’s not for you, the money will automatically return to you, and the package will be sent back to the sender," Gorokhovsky explained.
According to him, the commission for sales until January 8 will be 0.1%, and after testing, it will be 1.9%. During purchase, you will only need to pay for shipping.
