Emergency Power Outages in Ukraine on December 5
On the morning of December 5, emergency power outages are occurring in Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and partially in the Kirovohrad regions. This is reported by the NEC "Ukrenergo" on their Facebook page.
"Currently, emergency outages are being enforced in the mentioned regions. The previously published schedules of disconnections are temporarily suspended. As soon as the situation in the energy system stabilizes, these emergency outages will be lifted," the statement reads.
Due to Russian attacks, energy equipment has been damaged in several regions, leading to local power outages for consumers. Emergency restoration works have already begun.
As of 9:30 AM on Friday, electricity consumption has exceeded the previous day’s level by 1.5%. This is attributed to a smaller volume of outages compared to the previous day.
"The need for energy conservation remains today. Please limit the use of high-power electrical devices. If possible, move energy-intensive processes to night hours - after 10:00 PM," advises Ukrenergo.
As reported, schedules for power outages are in effect across all regions of Ukraine on December 5, ranging from 0.5 to 3 shifts.
