New Opportunities for Drone and Robot Developers in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Startup Fund (UFS), together with Brave1 and the State Emergency Service (SES), announces a new grant initiative for companies developing firefighting unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and ground robotic complexes (GRC). Participants can receive funding of up to 8 million UAH.
This was stated by Mykhailo Fedorov, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation.
Fedorov noted that this program will foster the development of the firefighting drone market.
Companies will have the opportunity to secure funding for creating innovative solutions capable of extinguishing fires in dangerous and hard-to-reach areas.
The Minister also outlined the key focus areas of the grant program:
- Firefighting drones with remote control that can carry up to 25 kg and have a flight time of 45 minutes.
- Ground robotic complexes with remote-controlled firefighting hoses, operating at a range of up to 2 km and with a payload capacity of 200 kg.
The maximum grant amount is 8 million UAH. Over the course of a year, developers can obtain up to 5 grants totaling up to 30 million UAH to gradually enhance their technology readiness,” the Minister added.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF) is also launching the Startup EDGE grant program with a total budget of 1 million euros, allowing companies to receive up to 40,000 euros in non-repayable financial assistance.
