Enhanced Security Measures in Transcarpathia
In the Transcarpathia region, near border checkpoints, new security measures are being implemented in the form of concrete barriers aimed at preventing unauthorized attempts to cross the border. This was reported by Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service.
"Systematic attempts to breach the border are not uncommon. Often, individuals, while at the border checkpoints or approaching them, attempt to force their way through, even damaging barriers. The State Border Guard Service, in collaboration with other agencies responsible for the organization of these checkpoints, is taking steps to prevent such actions," stated Demchenko.
He also mentioned that border guards, along with the infrastructure development service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, are implementing additional safety measures on the roads leading to the checkpoints. Specifically, devices are being installed that compel vehicles to reduce their speed.
Additionally, as part of enhancing engineering protection, special structures are being set up to hinder attempts by vehicles to breach the control line, including damage to barriers and other elements of border infrastructure.
