Since the launch of the «eBook» initiative, over 200,000 young Ukrainians who turned 18 have taken advantage of it. This was reported by the Ukrainian Book Institute.
The «eBook» program is a government support initiative that allows Ukrainians who turn 18 in 2024 or 2025 to receive 908 hryvnias for book purchases.
Applications can be submitted from the day one turns 18 until the day they turn 19.
Funds must be spent within three months on purchasing printed, electronic, and audiobooks exclusively in Ukrainian from participating bookstores and publishers.
During the three quarters of 2025, the «eBook» program facilitated the purchase of 359,000 books, averaging 1,330 books sold per day.
Program users most frequently bought books from publishers such as KSD (Kharkiv), Vivat (Kharkiv), BookChef (Kyiv), and others.
Popular authors include Collin Hoover, Tess Gerritsen, Penelope Douglas, Brianna West, and Agatha Christie.
The top five authors sold a total of 44,000 books, representing 12.46% of all books sold.
Vladimir Stanchishin is the most popular Ukrainian author in terms of sales, followed by Illarion Pavlyuk and Andriy Semyankiv.
