For the first time, Kyiv is launching a double-decker bus into service. This weekend, route number 57 will feature the double-decker MAN A39, donated by the city of Berlin. According to Autoconsulting,
the bus will operate only on weekends to assess its suitability for public transport routes.
The bus is equipped with 83 seating places: 28 on the lower deck and 55 on the upper deck, plus 45 standing places exclusively on the lower deck.
It also meets accessibility standards: featuring a low floor, 2 spaces for wheelchair users, a stroller spot, and 2 ramps. The bus will run on Saturdays and Sundays between the "Akademmistetko" metro station and the "Chapaevka" stop from 9:43 AM to 6:53 PM.
Additionally, another double-decker MAN is planned to serve as a tourist sightseeing bus.
