Lviv: New Features for Drivers via the DiiA
Lviv has set a precedent as the first city in Ukraine to incorporate parking violation fines into the "DiiA" app. Oleg Zabarilo, the director of the Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council, announced that drivers can now quickly verify any fines and pay them online.
According to him, all of this can now be done in the "DiiA" app with just a few clicks, eliminating the need for paper notifications.
"Even when facing inconveniences like fines, we aim to provide comfort. Information is transmitted faster, payments are more convenient, and the city saves budget funds on administration and postal services. This achievement is the result of our team's long-standing efforts with relevant ministries and partners", — Zabarilo stated.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that according to the OpenDataBot service, in the first half of 2025, there were 375,810 cases recorded in the Unified Register of Debtors due to unpaid traffic fines. Although this number has slightly decreased compared to last year, it remains significantly higher than pre-war levels. Kyiv ranks first in the number of cases, and among debtors, the proportion of women is increasing. In 2025, they accounted for 21% of all cases, compared to just 8% before the full-scale war.
