Kyiv Receives New Ambulances from Brussels
On October 17, Kyiv welcomed four more ambulances provided by Brussels for our defenders. This was announced by the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, the Brussels community has donated a total of 9 ambulances to Kyiv, including today’s delivery.
The previous 5 vehicles are actively assisting in saving the lives and health of the city's residents, especially after enemy shelling.
Klitschko noted that Brussels is also helping to equip Kyiv's medical facilities and train our medical personnel. Throughout the war, they have provided various humanitarian aid, equipment, and specialized vehicles.
“Today, together with Brussels Mayor Philippe Close, we visited the 'Human Titans' prosthetics center, which opened at the end of summer in one of the city’s hospitals. The facility provides assistance to injured soldiers and civilians who require modern prosthetics and rehabilitation. It is equipped with a 3D scanner for producing precise prosthetic components,” Klitschko stated.
The center was established with the support of Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner and the charitable organization Life Bridge Ukraine, as well as the participation of ONUR GROUP Ukraine.
Currently, 13 veterans from various regions of Ukraine are undergoing prosthetics and rehabilitation at the facility, with three of them already in the final stages.
Additionally, six prosthetic technicians from Kyiv have received training in prosthetics centers in Berlin.
As part of the project, over 60 Ukrainian soldiers with lower limb amputations of varying complexity have received prosthetics at the Bundeswehr military hospital.
“Now, injured defenders receive prosthetics at a center operating in Kyiv. The implementation of such projects demonstrates the strength of partnerships between European cities, which helps to save the health and lives of Ukrainians,” Klitschko concluded.
