Modern Upgrades at Okhmatdyt Hospital
In Kyiv, the modernisation of the diagnostic and treatment facility at the Okhmatdyt Hospital is ongoing. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reports on the progress of the works.
Renovation works are being carried out both externally (facades, windows) and internally (finishing, engineering systems, lighting).
On the facades of blocks B, V, and D, the dismantling of old ventilated facades has been completed, and the installation of new ones has begun (brackets, insulation, frames, and tile cladding). Overall, the works cover an area of over 3,000 m².
Additionally, 157 old window blocks were dismantled, and 217 new ones were installed, including duplicate constructions (across all three blocks).
Simultaneously, the internal spaces of the three blocks are being updated: works on the dismantling and installation of ceilings, walls, reveal and windows are being conducted, as well as the updating of drywall structures, plastering, radiators, and lighting.
In each block, a comprehensive repair cycle is being implemented to create a safe, modern, and comfortable environment for patients and medical staff. The works are organized to ensure that the hospital continues to provide medical assistance to children without interruption.
Additionally, a space for the “Superhero School” has been established in the hospital, where children can learn during their treatment. The center operates under the patronage of the First Lady Olena Zelenska and is part of a nationwide network of educational centers in children’s hospitals.
It is worth noting that in the summer of 2024, a missile struck the Okhmatdyt hospital, with the security service reporting the discovery of a fragment of the X-101 cruise missile engine at the scene of the tragedy.
