Oshkosh Defense Unveils New Mobile Tomahawk Missile Launcher

The American military vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Defense has revealed a new mobile launcher for Tomahawk missiles. The announcement was made by the company representatives.
This system, named X-MAV (Extreme Multi-Mission Autonomous Vehicle), is designed for autonomous launches of long-range missiles and is being showcased at the AUSA exhibition occurring in Washington from October 13 to 15.
"X-MAV from Oshkosh is a specialized launcher capable of autonomous firing. It serves as an ideal platform for the CAML-H program aimed at multi-domain missions," the company stated.
Oshkosh Defense's lineup also includes medium (M-MAV) and light (L-MAV) autonomous platforms. The M-MAV features remote control capabilities and a rocket artillery system, while the L-MAV consists of modules for drone interception and electronic warfare.
Tomahawk missiles were originally designed for launches from U.S. Navy ships and submarines; however, ground launches only became feasible in 2023 with the acquisition of the Typhon systems, the land-based version of the shipboard vertical launch system Mk41.
It is worth noting that on October 11, U.S. President Donald Trump discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
