New Electronic Medical Certificates Coming to Ukraine by 2026
Ukraine is gearing up to implement new electronic medical certificates by 2026, which will be used for adoption and obtaining driver's licenses.
This was announced by the head of the Department of Development of the Electronic Health Care System of the National Health Service of Ukraine, Dmytro Chernysh, during the eHealth Day event at the Public Health exhibition.
«We are preparing to launch new electronic medical certificates next year - for adoption and for drivers. These are crucial documents that need to be digitized to simplify processes and enhance transparency», Chernysh emphasized.
He also mentioned that implementing these electronic medical certificates will require changes to the legislation - in relevant resolutions and laws.
Additionally, this year, the next phase of electronic services in the field of rehabilitation is planned, which includes electronic prescriptions for assistive devices for patients.
«Previously, these data were processed on paper, but now they will be automatically transmitted to the Ministry of Social Policy, allowing patients to receive necessary devices more quickly», Chernysh stated.
Starting in 2026, a program for preventive medical examinations for individuals aged 40 and older will be launched in Ukraine to detect dangerous diseases at early stages. Participants will be able to receive funding for examinations through the «Diiia» app.
