Ukraine is preparing to finalize an agreement with the United States concerning the transfer of technology for combat drones that have been «tested in real combat conditions». This is reported by the Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, which cites officials from both nations, in exchange, Ukraine will be offered «royalties or other forms of compensation».
A key advantage for Ukraine in this agreement is its extensive experience in mass production of affordable drones that have demonstrated high effectiveness on the battlefield. While American companies «produce complex drones», Ukrainians specialize in «mass production of affordable» UAVs.
A team of Ukrainian experts led by Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Boyev has already started «multi-day negotiations» in Washington with representatives from the Pentagon and the State Department.
A U.S. government official noted that finalizing a detailed agreement, which could be worth billions of dollars, «will likely take months».
