Critical Situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Today, it was reported that the only power line supplying the Zaporizhzhia NPP has been disconnected. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirmed this information via its Telegram channel.
"At 16:56, the power line that provided electricity to the Zaporizhzhia NPP from the Ukrainian energy system was disconnected. The plant has switched to self-supply using diesel generators, which constitutes a significant breach of its normal operational conditions," the official statement reads.
Moreover, throughout the entire period of occupation, the Zaporizhzhia NPP has repeatedly faced power outages due to shelling and damage to energy infrastructure. The Ministry emphasized that this incident once again proves that the Russian occupation poses a threat to the safe operation of the plant.
"The Ministry of Energy calls on the international community to take decisive action - it is essential to increase pressure on Russia for the swift demilitarization and de-occupation of the plant. Restoring the Zaporizhzhia NPP under full and legitimate control of Ukraine is the only way to ensure nuclear safety in the region," the ministry stressed.
We remind you that the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency adopted a resolution titled 'Nuclear Safety, Physical Nuclear Safety, and Safeguards in Ukraine,' which calls for Russia to immediately de-occupy the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
