Mural Honoring Rescuers Unveiled in Kyiv
In the capital of Ukraine, at the Central Bus Station, a new mural honoring Ukrainian rescuers was presented. This event was timed to coincide with Rescuer's Day, celebrated annually on September 17.
The artist, Diana Sorokina, has already completed over a hundred murals in various cities across the country.
This new mural combines urban art with themes of heroism and assistance, aiming not only to beautify the city but also to highlight the vital role of rescuers in the daily lives of Ukrainians.
Diana Sorokina emphasized that this mural is her tribute to Ukrainian rescuers: "I am very grateful to have been involved in creating this mural. Tomorrow, September 17, is Rescuer's Day. I want to thank you for your courage and strength. I hope you will appreciate what I have depicted in this artwork."
Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Roman Prymush stressed that this mural serves as a reminder for every visitor to the city about the work of rescuers who safeguard our country's security.
"In times of war, rescuers are the first to respond to emergencies. They often sacrifice their lives and health. Unfortunately, we have lost 107 of our emergency workers while fulfilling their duties. Many are injured. But despite all the risks, they continue to be the first to help," he added.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership of Kyivpassservice for supporting the initiative to commemorate the rescuers who heroically protect lives.
Oleg Mishchenko, head of the board of Kyivpassservice, mentioned that it is crucial for such symbolic projects to appear at the Central Bus Station, as the station represents not just travel but also a cultural and historical space.
The State Emergency Service noted that Diana Sorokina successfully captured and reflected the values held by the large team of Ukrainian rescuers.
