The National Bank of Ukraine has decided to maintain the key interest rate at 15.5%.
This was announced by the head of the NBU, Andriy Pyshny, during a press briefing.
"The Board of the National Bank has made the decision to keep the interest rate at 15.5%. This will help to support the stability of the currency market and manage inflation expectations," Pyshny stated.
It is worth noting that in January 2022, the NBU raised the interest rate to 10%. In June 2022, the rate was increased from 10 to 25%. It remained at this level for over a year: on July 27, 2023, the rate was reduced to 22%, and its gradual decrease continued. In December 2024, in response to the developments in inflation processes, the NBU began to raise the rate - to 15.5 in March 2025.
