Soon, the first students of the Faculty of Eastern Languages will begin their studies in a dual degree program.
Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University is actively establishing international partnerships with higher education institutions in Japan.
According to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration, on September 4, during an official meeting in Budapest (Hungary), the acting rector of the university, Oleksandr Turuntsev, and the president of the Japanese University of Economics, Ms. Asuka Tsuzuki, signed an agreement on dual degrees.
During this meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding and a Student Exchange Agreement were also concluded, opening new opportunities for academic mobility and international collaboration, as well as integrating Ukrainian students into the global educational community.
The first group of students from the faculty will soon start their studies under the dual degree program. Participation in the program will be open to both undergraduate and graduate students, significantly expanding opportunities for professional growth. According to the agreements reached, the number of students who can join this initiative will increase to five starting in 2026.
With the support of Ms. Asuka Tsuzuki, Grinchenko University students will also have internships at Japanese companies involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine. This approach will not only foster the professional development of Ukrainian students but also serve as a solid foundation for strengthening bilateral economic relations between Ukraine and Japan and attracting Japanese investments in the rebuilding and development of our country.
Moreover, from September 16, 2025, to January 6, 2026, the Japanese University of Economics and Grinchenko University will jointly implement the course "Ukrainian-Japanese Intercultural Communication in the Workplace" under the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) program for the second time.
Participation in this course will provide Grinchenko University students with additional opportunities to communicate with Japanese students and faculty, fostering deeper intercultural dialogue and the development of international cooperation skills.
It is worth noting that Grinchenko University ranked among the top 10 universities in Kyiv, placing 10th among 72 institutions.
