Arrest of Suspect in Deputy's Murder
On the night of September 1, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the arrest of an individual suspected of murdering Andriy Parubiy, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
This news was shared by the president on social media.
Zelensky stated: "Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko and Head of the Security Service Vasyl Malyuk have just reported the arrest of the suspect in the case of Andriy Parubiy".
According to him, necessary investigative actions are ongoing.
"I instructed to present all available information to the public. Thank you to law enforcement for their swift and coordinated efforts. All circumstances surrounding this horrific murder must be clarified". - emphasized the president.
Update: Later, Zelensky reported having a conversation with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
"He (Kravchenko) reported on further procedural steps regarding the suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy. There are initial testimonies from the suspect. Additional urgent investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of this murder". - noted Zelensky.
Background: Earlier, Zelensky assured that the investigation into the murder of deputy Andriy Parubiy is being conducted "virtually around the clock".
