Tragic Accident in Kirovohrad Region: Six Fatalities
In the Kirovohrad region, near the village of Khmelove, a tragic traffic accident occurred overnight, claiming the lives of six individuals, including a child. Additionally, six others, including another child, sustained injuries.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kirovohrad region via Facebook.
“Last night, our emergency responders were engaged in managing the aftermath of a horrific road crash that took place near the village of Khmelove in the Smolinske community. They extricated the bodies of six individuals from the wreckage, one of whom was a child. Six others, including another child, were injured,” the statement said.
All injured parties were transported to medical facilities for necessary care.
According to regional police, the accident occurred around 2:00 AM on the M-30 highway between the villages of Rozsokhuvatka and Khmelove.
Preliminary information indicates that a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus, driven by a 2003-born individual, collided with a MAN bus operated by a driver born in 1992.
A criminal investigation has been initiated under part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violating traffic safety rules). The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine all circumstances surrounding the incident.
