Due to low water levels in reservoirs, Ukrhydroenergo is optimizing resource usage in preparation for the heating season.
This was reported by the company's press service.
"This year, we are witnessing the lowest water reserves in a decade. This is a consequence of low river flow levels," the report states.
In addition to generating electricity, Ukrhydroenergo is also obligated to supply water to consumers. Therefore, hydroelectric stations must maintain a certain reserve and monitor water levels in the reservoirs.
"Unfortunately, the water levels are significantly lower than last year. However, the company is making every effort to prepare with sufficient reserves by autumn. Thus, in preparing the hydroelectric plants for winter, Ukrhydroenergo will use water efficiently to accumulate necessary reserves in the reservoirs," the press service emphasized.
Furthermore, Ukrhydroenergo continues its work on restoring and securing its facilities, and is carrying out scheduled repairs at hydroelectric plants.
As previously reported, Ukrhydroenergo signed a memorandum of cooperation with the consulting company PADECO Co., Ltd to implement the Kaniv Pumped Storage Plant project.
