On August 7, 2025, the President of the United States urged Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Intel, to step down. However, within a week, Donald Trump dramatically changed his view and started to admire Tan's leadership.
In a new post on Truth Social, Trump mentioned that he had a meeting with Lip-Bu Tan alongside Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent.
The suggestions likely pertain to Lip-Bu Tan's connections with China, which initially prompted Trump to call for his departure. Following Trump's first post, Tan addressed the company's employees, expressing his love for the U.S. and Intel, and considered leading the company a privilege.
Tan also quickly expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Trump administration, labeling the accusations regarding connections to companies closely tied to the Chinese government as misinformation.
