Therapeutic Garden at VDNH: A New Oasis for Healing
A Therapeutic Garden is being established at VDNH in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and urban bureau Big City Lab, featuring a unique lighting system developed by Expolight. According to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, this initiative aims to foster relaxation and help disengage from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The lighting will play a crucial role in the meditative paths, relaxation zones, and attention support areas as needed. The system will include uniquely configured poles with fixtures and various optics, as well as underground lighting for trees and plants, with diodes mimicking the sunset spectrum that is most harmonious for humans at its core.
The Ministry asserts that this solution draws on successful practices from Japan, Switzerland, and Scandinavian countries, where light in gardens and rehabilitation centers aids in maintaining circadian rhythms and reducing anxiety.
The Therapeutic Garden at VDNH will provide a space for recovery and sensory unloading for veterans, service members, and all visitors.
The effects will be achieved through visual, auditory, and tactile interactions with nature, physical practices, and collective activities. S gardening therapy, body practices, art therapy, workshops will be conducted here, and there will also be adaptive sports areas, spaces for individual relaxation, and children's areas.
The project is realized by VDNH together with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs as part of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, initiated by the First Lady Olena Zelenska.
