Youth Engagement and Influence: Events on August 11
On August 11, a series of events will take place at the Youth House in Kyiv, focusing on active participation, decision-making, and the role of youth in social change. These activities are organized in collaboration with the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House, UNDP in Ukraine, and the Council of Europe.
The program includes thematic board games, presentations, and discussions. All activities create opportunities for networking, sharing experiences, and learning how youth can influence the surrounding processes — in educational institutions, communities, and at the state level.
Event Program for Youth Day:
1. Simulation Board Game “Year of Decisions”
The “Year of Decisions” simulates a year of student self-governance. Participants will experience the journey from planning to decision-making, developing skills in resource management, teamwork, and engaging students in active participation. The game is created by UNDP in Ukraine and the NGO “ET CETERA.”
There will be two rounds of the game: from 14:00 to 16:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00. The number of places is limited.
2. Board Game “Decisions Exist!”
This game was created in collaboration with the Council of Europe project “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III,” the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ukrainian Association of Youth Councils based on the visions and needs of young people.
The meeting will begin with a presentation on resources and opportunities from the Council of Europe. After that, the game will commence. Participants will explore youth-related policies, forms of participation, barriers, and ways to overcome them. They will also learn about the PZPM (Rights, Means, Space, Opportunities, Support) approach — and how it relates to youth participation in decision-making in real life.
Participants can join the game from 15:30 to 17:30. The number of places is limited.
3. Open Event “Eurointegration and Youth Influence”
During this event, participants will learn how the European Union operates and at what stage Ukraine's integration is. They will meet with an activist from the Euromaidan, discuss the role of civic activism, and conclude with a discussion on what influence tools youth have. This meeting is organized by the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House as part of a series of events dedicated to Denmark's presidency in the EU Council.
The event will take place from 18:00 to 20:00.
