Dangerous Incident in Cherkasy: Man with a Grenade

In Cherkasy, during an identity verification, military personnel from the territorial recruitment center encountered a man armed with a grenade. He suddenly pulled the pin, threatening to detonate himself and the soldiers.

This was reported on the Facebook page of the Cherkasy regional TCC.

«This morning, while conducting security measures on Khimikiv Avenue, military personnel stopped a man for a document check. During the conversation, he pulled out a grenade, removed the pin, threatening everyone around, and attempted to take the soldiers hostage,» the statement reads.

Law enforcement arrived promptly at the scene. Currently, police representatives are working with the man, while the military are at a safe distance.

Special services have also taken measures to investigate and resolve the situation.

Law enforcement will assess the man's actions legally.
