New Strategies for Drone Supply to the Armed Forces
Since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Defense has supplied the Armed Forces with over 1 million FPV drones.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, on Facebook.
According to Shmyhal, to expedite the delivery of drones to the frontlines and ensure adequate supply, the ministry is adopting new strategies. Specifically, under the Framework Agreement based on technical specifications, manufacturers are contracted based on the drones' compliance with these specifications rather than specific product names.
Shmyhal noted that this approach allows for a wider range of manufacturers to be involved, fostering competition and transparency through auctions held on the Prozorro platform.
Additionally, the digital marketplace DOT-Chain Defence, where units can choose the necessary drones, ensures prompt and targeted delivery to the front. The platform is currently operating in pilot mode for 12 combat brigades.
"Our priority is to develop the most effective mechanisms for supplying soldiers at the front with the necessary drones. In line with the tasks outlined, the Defense Procurement Agency is working to increase the pace of deliveries so that each unit receives exactly what it needs to carry out combat missions," Shmyhal emphasized.
