New Evidence of Child Abduction in Ukraine
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has uncovered new evidence of child abduction by Russian forces from temporarily occupied regions. Cyber specialists from GUR conducted a large-scale operation, gaining access to information from the so-called "Crimean government" servers.
These resources contained documentation confirming the forced relocation of children from Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
In particular, the intelligence agency accessed thousands of lists of abducted children, profiles of unaccompanied minors, and illegal decisions appointing new guardians for orphaned children relocated to Russia, along with addresses of new residences for the abducted Ukrainian children.
“We have thousands of files with invaluable information for justice regarding one of the largest war crimes of Russia — the abduction of Ukrainian children. This information has already been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for analysis and inclusion in criminal proceedings. The acquired data will assist in locating and bringing home the abducted children, as well as punishing those responsible for this crime,” said GUR MO Ukraine representative Andrii Yusov.
The GUR MO Ukraine emphasizes that every crime against the Ukrainian people will face due retribution.
