Legislative Measures on Sanctions for Russian Vessels

President Volodymyr Zelensky has enacted a new law concerning the imposition of sanctions on ships and aircraft involved in the clandestine transportation of oil and petroleum products from Russia.

This legislative initiative, known as Draft Law №13020, is available on the official parliamentary website.

The law stipulates sanctions against maritime and aerial vessels engaged in shadow trade of oil, weapons, and military equipment.

The document introduces amendments to the Law of Ukraine «On Sanctions», allowing for sanctions against vessels and aircraft whose activities pose real and potential threats to national interests, security, territorial integrity, and the sovereignty of Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence agencies are tasked with identifying and documenting the use of such vessels.

It is regulated that the State Sanctions Register must include information about all entities, as well as vessels and aircraft subject to sanctions.
