Ukraine has successfully completed its first import of Azerbaijani gas via the Trans-Balkan corridor.
This was announced by the chairman of the Naftogaz group, Sergey Koretsky.
The successful delivery was made possible through an agreement with SOCAR Energy Ukraine. Initial shipments are being conducted via a trial route through Bulgaria and Romania to the Ukrainian border.
While the gas volumes are still small, this step represents a significant strategic achievement for the country.
"This is a strategically important step that paves the way for long-term cooperation. It also exemplifies the diversification of supply sources and strengthens Ukraine's energy security," Koretsky stated.
He concluded by thanking his colleagues from Azerbaijan for their trust.
