Increase in Electricity Consumption in Ukraine Due to Heatwave
25 July 2025 14:23
On July 25, electricity consumption in Ukraine is rising due to the hot weather across the country.
This information comes from the state-owned enterprise "Ukrenergo" via their Facebook account.
"Electricity consumption is on the rise. As of 9:30 today, it was 6.9% higher than the same time yesterday - Thursday. The cause is the heat throughout Ukraine and cloudy weather with rain in parts of the western and northern regions, which affects the efficiency of household power plants and leads to increased consumption from the national grid," the statement reads.
Yesterday, July 24, the daily consumption peak was recorded in the evening, which was 1.7% higher than the peak of the previous day - Wednesday.
Ukrenergo reminded that the Ukrainian energy system is still recovering from the mass missile and drone attacks by Russia. Emergency recovery work at energy facilities is ongoing.
The company emphasized the need for energy conservation today and called for limiting the use of high-power appliances until 10 PM.
