Starlink Restores Service After Major Outage
After a significant outage lasting about two and a half hours, the Starlink satellite internet network has successfully resumed operations, which is crucial for communication in active combat zones.
This was reported by the company's vice president, Michael Nichols, in a comment provided by the commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brovdi, known by the nickname "Madyar".
Nichols stated: "The cause of the outage was a failure of critical internal software services that support the core network. We apologize for the temporary service interruption; we are committed to providing a highly reliable network and will fully resolve this issue to prevent it from happening again."
Commander Brovdi also confirmed that communication was restored across all fronts approximately between 00:35 and 01:05.
He emphasized that combat operations continued during the outage despite the lack of broadcasts, with reconnaissance being conducted using strike assets.
According to "Madyar": "Combat operations were carried out without broadcasts; reconnaissance was conducted with strike assets. This incident, lasting a lengthy 150 minutes in warfare, highlights existing communication bottlenecks that need to be addressed."
