Due to the increased risk of road accidents and the harvest season, Ukrtransbezpeka has activated monitoring for compliance in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions.
To this end, additional inspectors have been sent to the region from other parts of Ukraine.
«The full-scale invasion has disrupted the country’s logistics routes. Currently, all freight transportation to the ports passes through the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions. Therefore, our goal is to preserve the roads and significantly reduce repair costs. I urge carriers: adhere to weight limits to avoid hefty fines», — emphasized Ukrtransbezpeka Head Nikita Lagunin.
As part of the enhanced measures, monitoring at certain road sections is conducted around the clock. Inspectors pay special attention to compliance with weight norms and drivers’ working and resting hours.
The control measures are coordinated by the Odessa and Mykolaiv regional state administrations with the support of Ukrzaliznytsia.
