The Legendary An-124-100 Returns to Germany
After completing the modernization of the An-124-100 belonging to «Antonov», the aircraft was relocated to Germany.
This was announced by the press service of the «Antonov» company on Facebook.
«We have successfully completed a lengthy project to modernize one of our legendary transport aircraft, the An-124-100 serial number 0706, and safely relocated «Ruslan» to Germany on July 11, 2025», the report states.
This aircraft, manufactured in 1994, boasts over 21,000 flight hours and more than 5,500 flights. The deep modernization work began in 2021, aimed at replacing key components previously produced in Russia with modern parts from Western and Ukrainian manufacturers.
Due to the full-scale aggression of Russia in 2022, work was partially halted while the aircraft was in a disassembled state. However, the team managed to resume work and complete the modernization by June 2025.
«The relocation of «Ruslan» has become not just a technical solution but a symbol of resilience, professionalism, and unity among Ukrainian aircraft builders. The upgraded «Ruslan» will continue to fly and serve Ukraine now on international routes», the company added.
Currently, the company's aviation fleet is operating under secure conditions, in accordance with internal safety protocols.
As previously reported, the company «Antonov» received an award from The Heavy Lift Group (THLG) for its contribution to the development of the global heavy-lift transport market.
