As of early 2025, over 4.6 thousand hectares of agricultural land in the Kyiv region have been surveyed, with more than 1 thousand hectares cleared of mines.
This was reported by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnikov.
Since the onset of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, more than 37.6 thousand hectares of territory have been surveyed in the region, including nearly 8,136 hectares of agricultural land.
According to Kalashnikov, harvesting has begun in Kyiv region, but "to ensure that the fields in the liberated areas can once again feed people, they must first be cleared of the deadly 'gifts' from the occupiers".
"Today, farmers are harvesting early grains and legumes. The first harvest in Kyiv region has been initiated by farms in the Bila Tserkva area. The initial results are promising – the yield is good. Soon, agricultural producers across the region will join in the harvest. A mass collection of other crops is expected closer to mid-July," Kalashnikov added.
