Due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds), 701 populated areas in six regions of Ukraine were partially or completely without power as of the morning of July 8.
This was reported by "Ukrenergo".
"Repair crews from the regional power companies are already working to address the damages. Power restoration for all affected subscribers is expected by the end of the day," the statement said.
Additionally, according to the company, on July 8 at 9:30 AM, electricity consumption was 6.4% higher than at the same time the previous day – Monday.
"The reason is the onset of hot weather across Ukraine. Furthermore, cloudy weather with rain in parts of the western and central regions is leading to lower efficiency of household solar power stations," explained "Ukrenergo".
They also emphasized the need for energy conservation during the evening peak consumption hours – from 5 PM to 10 PM – urging residents not to use multiple high-powered appliances at the same time.
