Opportunity for Renewed Compensation Applications for Repairs
Ukrainians who were unable to use the funds for repairing damaged housing are now permitted to reapply for compensation.
This announcement was made via Telegram by Taras Melnychuk, the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada.
Relevant changes have been introduced to the Procedure for Providing Compensation for the Restoration of Specific Categories of Real Estate Damaged as a Result of Military Actions, Terrorist Acts, and Diversions Caused by Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation, using the electronic public service «eRecovery».
According to the changes, recipients of compensation who, due to objective circumstances (as defined by the resolution), did not manage to use the compensation funds fully or partially within the established timeframe, are allowed to reapply for compensation or its remaining balance.
Additionally, regulations have been established regarding the liability of compensation recipients for improper use of the funds in case such a fact is detected by the commission reviewing compensation requests.
As reported, under the "eRecovery" program, nearly 97,000 families have received assistance for the restoration of damaged property, and almost 20,000 families have been compensated for purchasing new housing to replace destroyed homes.
