In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, police have arrested a man who fired a weapon at a group of teenagers.
Investigators have initiated a criminal case for hooliganism. The shooter faces up to seven years in prison.
Reports of the shooting on Bratstvo Tarasivtsiv Street came to the police from bystanders in the evening. A forensic team and patrol units promptly arrived at the scene.
It was established that a 45-year-old local resident, under the influence of alcohol, had an argument with a group of teenagers passing by. During the altercation, he took out a traumatic pistol from his bag and fired in their direction. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The police detained the offender and confiscated the weapon. The suspect has been charged under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for hooliganism, which involves a gross violation of public order with clear disrespect for society.
The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to bail for the arrested individual. The article's penalty provides for up to seven years in prison.
