Two people lost their lives and 15 were injured as a result of explosions in the village of Berezina, near Zhytomyr.
This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, via Telegram.
«There were two explosions on the international highway M-06 in the village of Berezina. Unfortunately, we can confirm two fatalities and 15 injured people», Bunechko stated.
He mentioned that the explosions also damaged private properties. An operational headquarters has been established at the scene, and all relevant services are responding. Medical assistance is being provided to the victims.
According to the Zhytomyr Patrol Police, traffic has been blocked in both directions on the 126 km mark of the M-06 Kyiv — Chop highway (near Berezina) due to the emergency situation.
The Zhytomyr Regional State Administration has urged residents to close windows, minimize outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and use air purifiers.
