Appointment of the New Attorney General of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has appointed Ruslan Kravchenko as the new attorney general.

The relevant decree has been published on the official website of the head of state.

Ruslan Kravchenko is the new attorney general.

The document states: “To appoint Kravchenko Ruslan Andriyovych as the Attorney General.”

This week, the Verkhovna Rada approved Ruslan Kravchenko's appointment to this position.

His nomination was supported by 273 deputies.

Following his appointment, Kravchenko outlined his priorities as attorney general:

• restoring the role of the prosecution as the main coordinator of law enforcement agencies;
• regaining public trust in the prosecution from society, the public, and international partners;
• ensuring justice in every case;
• inevitability of punishment;
• collecting evidence for the International Criminal Court in The Hague regarding crimes committed by Russia.
