Tragic Incident in Belgium: Murder of Mother and Daughter
In the town of Hasrode (Belgium), a mother and her six-year-old daughter were found dead. Both victims suffered from knife wounds, and the crime scene was intentionally set on fire.

Details: According to reports, the tragedy occurred on Friday morning in a priest's house on Milsestraat Street in Hasrode, near Oud-Heverlee. Around 9:30 AM, firefighters received a call about a fire in the house. At the scene, rescuers found heavy smoke coming from the windows of the first-floor apartment. The fire was localized shortly thereafter.
During the inspection of the residence, two bodies were discovered – that of the mother and her daughter. The mother was already deceased by the time help arrived. The child was revived but later died from her injuries.
Investigators reported that both victims had knife wounds. Preliminary findings from fire experts indicate that the fire was deliberately set.
“This is a Ukrainian family that has been living in our country for three years. The girl's father is still fighting on the front lines in Ukraine. The mother also had a 16-year-old son who was at school at the time of the fire. He is currently being cared for,” the report states.
The prosecutor's office is classifying the incident as a double murder.
