Ukrainian Delegation Visits Japan for DSEI Japan 2025 Exhibition
The Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Defense Valeriy Churkin visited Tokyo at the invitation of Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani to attend the DSEI Japan 2025 international exhibition.
DSEI Japan is one of the leading global platforms for showcasing defense capabilities, technological innovations, and strategic dialogue among partner nations. This year's exhibition gathered over 250 companies from 35 countries, along with delegations from 40 defense ministries, including the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Canada, Poland, and others.
This event marked a historic moment for Ukraine, as it was officially represented for the first time by both the Defense Ministry delegation and six enterprises from the Ukrainian defense industry.
The Ukrainian delegation held numerous bilateral meetings with representatives of defense ministries, discussing future steps to deepen cooperation, technological exchange, and mutual strengthening of defense capabilities.
Ministry representatives also visited the Central Military Hospital of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, where Ukrainian wounded defenders are receiving treatment. Ukrainian soldiers were awarded departmental honors from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The delegation learned about the treatment and rehabilitation conditions, spoke with hospital staff, and conducted negotiations with medical facility management regarding the further development of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation in military medicine. A meeting was held with the head of the central military hospital.
«Ukraine is grateful to its Japanese partners for their support and humanity. At a time when the world views our country as a shield of freedom, our task is to strengthen strategic alliances, develop technological advantages, and bring every one of our warriors home victorious,» emphasized Valeriy Churkin.
