Charity Run in Krakow for Children’s Support
Participants ran through the blooming chestnuts of Krakow, symbolically connecting the beauty of the Polish city with the memory of Kyiv.
On Kyiv Day, May 25, 2025, Krakow joined the global charity initiative "Run Under the Chestnuts" to support young patients of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine's Children's Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Center. This was reported by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Krakow.
“On this symbolic day, the residents of Krakow express their unwavering solidarity with the brave people of Kyiv, who face barbaric shelling every day. Despite the constant threat and terror, the capital of Ukraine remains steadfast, and its residents show incredible resilience and courage. Our charity run in Krakow is not just a support for Ukrainian children in need of medical assistance but also a symbol of unity with all Ukrainians who heroically defend their land,” stated the consulate.
Since 1993, the event has united thousands of people around common humanitarian goals, demonstrating a symbol of international solidarity and shared responsibility for Ukrainian children in need.
The General Consul of Ukraine in Krakow, Vyacheslav Voinarovsky, addressed the participants, emphasizing that participating in charity events of this scale is a significant contribution to rebuilding the future of Ukraine and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
The event was attended by staff from the General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow, the U.S. consul for press and culture, Adrian Pratt, the Krakow Waterworks team, and caring residents of Krakow.
The organization of the event was made possible by the initiative of the Deputy Consul Valentina Kuzmin and young Ukrainian activists in Krakow.
The General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow extends sincere thanks to the partners for their support and faith in the common cause: Krakow Waterworks, FruitMood (Sofio), RendPacoEco, and others.
This event once again demonstrated that together we are strong, together we are the heart of Ukraine. International support and solidarity are crucial for the recovery of Ukraine and helping the most vulnerable citizens.
Last year, the "Run Under the Chestnuts" raised one and a half million hryvnias for the Children's Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Center.
