Former Official Detained in Spain
In Spain, local law enforcement has detained Oleg Gladkovsky, who previously served as the first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

He is accused of causing damage to the state amounting to 17.44 million UAH in a case investigated by the SAP and NABU.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the former high-ranking official abused his position, acting against the interests of the service.
The aim of his actions was to gain illegal benefits for a company in which he and his close associates held ownership stakes, namely PJSC "Automobile Company 'Bogdan Motors'".
In October 2019, he was officially notified of suspicion regarding a crime under part two of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On May 13, 2024, the VAKS issued an arrest warrant for the former first deputy secretary of the NSDC in absentia.
What to Know About the Gladkovsky Case
On October 19, 2019, VAKS arrested Gladkovsky with an alternative of a 10.6 million UAH bail, which was posted on October 21, 2019.
In March 2022, the court seized the bail for the benefit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and changed the preventive measure to personal obligation. After that, Gladkovsky stopped attending court sessions, and according to information from NABU and SAP, he left the country altogether. Consequently, he was declared wanted.
In April 2024, VAKS announced the former first deputy secretary of the NSDC wanted, who, along with a former deputy defense minister and the director of the Ministry of Defense department, is accused of causing damages to the state totaling 17.44 million UAH.
“The court took into account the absences of the accused at court sessions and the confirmed information regarding this person being abroad and granted the application,” noted SAP.
The ex-official of the NSDC exploited his given power and official position against the interests of the service to obtain illegal benefits for a company in which he and his close associates held stakes, specifically PJSC "Automobile Company 'Bogdan Motors'".
He organized the procurement of all-terrain trucks under state defense orders at unlawfully inflated prices.
