New Opportunities for School Transport in Ukraine
The Ukrainian government has approved a new funding plan for purchasing school buses in 2025.
These funds will be allocated to 10 regions that urgently need to update their vehicle fleet for transporting students and teachers.
This decision is a significant step towards ensuring quality and safe education for every child, regardless of their place of residence or security situation.
The subsidy will enable communities to acquire new school buses, including those specially equipped for transporting children with special educational needs. Purchases will be made under co-financing conditions from local budgets and through the Prozorro Market, which will significantly streamline the procedures.
The buses will be provided to:
- Dnipropetrovsk region
- Zaporizhzhia region
- Kirovohrad region
- Mykolaiv region
- Odesa region
- Sumy region
- Kharkiv region
- Khmelnytskyi region
- Cherkasy region
- Chernihiv region
The total amount of the distributed subsidy is UAH 273.7 million.
This is part of a large government program, under which UAH 1.6 billion is planned for 2025 to purchase over 500 buses for communities. Priority will be given to hub schools, military lyceums, institutions accepting students from other territories, and schools that have lost transport due to the war. It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, communities have already purchased 110 buses.
