Impressive Achievements of Ukrainian Canine Teams at International Championship
This was reported by the Service Dog Center «Strazh» and the Pavlograd Search and Rescue Canine Unit «Antares».
The 2nd FMBB SAR 2025 Championship for Belgian Shepherd Rescue Dogs took place from April 16 to 20 in Belgium as part of the annual multidisciplinary World Championship for Belgian Shepherds. 56 participants from 15 countries competed in skills required to locate victims in various environments.
Each category required participants to complete several stages, including obedience and agility tests, along with a search phase.
The Ukrainian team was represented by canine units from the National Club of Belgian Shepherd Owners «Canine Union of Ukraine» from Pavlograd, Odesa, and Kyiv.
«The Ukrainian team demonstrated a high level of preparation and professionalism, proudly representing our country on the international stage. Special congratulations to our instructor cynologist Daryna Tytarenko and her Belgian Shepherd Haku, who achieved 2nd place in the categories of «Search in Technogenic Debris» and «Obedience» Class A.»
This marks the second time in the history of the FCI Rescue Championships that the Cup goes to Ukraine, and it was Daryna and Haku who brought this victory home!» proudly reported «Strazh».
19-year-old Maria Romanova from Pavlograd and her dog Pulya secured 4th place in the «Search in Technogenic Debris, Level B» category.
Meanwhile, Iryna Shvets and her protégé Natsu from Kyiv, representing the SarCan rescue team, took 5th place in the «Search in Natural Environment, Level B» category.
Moreover, the four-legged assistants of Odesa rescuers from the State Emergency Service participated in a rescue operation under the rubble of a residential building on Dobrovolskyi Avenue when a Russian drone destroyed an entire entrance of a nine-story building, burying 12 people under the debris on March 2, 2024.
